"little POWER"
February 27, 2009
Good morning to each of you readers, I hope today is a blessing to you already. May each of us remember this is the day the Lord has given us to live. Yesterday is over and tomorrow {at least in this world] may never happen. TODAY that is all we ever have and may each of us be productive for the King and His Kingdom as we live it. Last evening in church I taught from Revelation chapter 3 . There we find the letter from Christ to the church in Philadelphia. This church is my favorite church of the 7 in which to study. They were marked by their faithfulness, and their faithfulness was rooted in their love for the Lord and his children the church. The name Philadelphia means "Brotherly Love" and how they loved! Their love translated out into works, works of faith, obedience, perseverance and steadfastness. It took me right at 1 hour to teach about this passage and all we did was touch the high points. But the one thing I would like to share with you today is one of the things that Christ commended this church for having. He said I know your works that you have " a little strength.'" Now Christ had just told them that it was He who was writing them and that He was HOLY, TRUE, and OMNIPOTENT or {AL MIGHTY}. But then He commends them for their having a little power. When He said they had little strength or power He was not putting them down, He was proud of them, He was pleased. They had the POWER of God in their church, upon their believers. His saying they had little power was emphasizing He HAD ALL POWER and the power they had was small in comparison. But the power they had was sufficient for them to live in the Spirit and become like Christ. It was sufficient for them to remain faithful to Christ and His cause of holiness. It was sufficient enough to defeat false teaching and remain faithful to His Truth. It was sufficient to keep them steadfast and withstand the temptation of running and quitting on God. It was sufficient to give them power over the devil and all his army . Gods power is available to each of His children and to each of His churches. He has ALL POWER to accomplish whatever needs accomplished and plenty left over. Listen, "God's smallest amount of power is greater than Satan's largest amount of power." The power God grants His church is great and enough for all that is needed but it is small in comparison to the all the power He possesses. This Sunday I will be teaching in our Adult Bible Fellowship class on the Armor of God. We have enough powerful weapons to put all the enemies on the run. Enemies from without and within. Now here is the question, do you live life in the power of the flesh or the power of the spirit? Do you have God's power on you? Does your church have God's power all over it? We can have! Now power doesn't come cheap. We must be saved and have the indwelling Holy Spirit alive within us. Then we must empty our vessels[our lives] of sin and self. We must ask Him to fill us with power from on high. Then we must be a clean vessel because God will not use or fill a person who is living in an unclean way. We must PRAY, PRAY, & Pray for His power. Once we have the power of the Spirit in our lives watch the enemies fall one by one.
Hey by the way we had some folks report that when they were reading the blog that they had to keep scrolling to the right to read. SORRY about that! It is corrected now. It happen back in January unnoticed by us. It was a server problem. Thanks to the one who reported this. In the future if there is a problem feel free to let us know as soon as possible.
Have a great day!!
Thursday Report
February 26, 2009
Just got back to the office , it is about 2.p.m. on Thursday. This morning we preached for Wilma Jean Richeys funeral. She was a good lady who knew the Lord and today is in heaven because of the mercy of God. Wilma received the Lord many years ago and today that is all that matters. Please pray for David her son and Roy her husband of 48 years. Every time I preach someone's funeral i think about the day someone will have mine. I am not sure how soon or how long it will be but I am sure it will happen if the Rapture doesn't happen first. Death is appointed and it is certain. Tonight in church I will preach on the 6th church found in Revelation 3. It is the Church of Philadelphia and what a wonderful church it was, no condemnation mentioned at all. This study is sure to encourage and enlighten those who make the effort to be here. We will speak about Pretribulationism,Protribulationism, and Posttribulationism. Hope to see each one of you who are planning to be here. This week I will have a funeral, a wedding, preach 6 times, council many times, visit the hospitals and some homes, direct a staff of wonderful servants, spend time with my wife, help paint Abby & Jays bedrooms, work on direction for future preaching at Liberty, and so much more. What a blessed way to spend life , just serving the Lord in whatever areas He leads in. Remember to pray for Larry Brooks, Olin Jones, and many other sick this week. Have a great day.
BANK WITH JESUS
February 24, 2009
The Dow is down again yesterday , another 250 points. Wow, it has lost nearly 50 % of it total in less than a year. Scary times for sure especially for those who don't know the Lord. Most of you know I started my message out on Sunday with Revelation 18 and looked for a while at the coming world wide economic collapse that is coming in the tribulation. This morning as I listened for about 5 minutes or so {because I couldn't stomach much more} to the news, they had several folk saying what needed to be done. Well trust me they are doing all they can but the problem is not to be solved by man but by God. ONLY GOD can solve the problem because He is the one causing the problem. America has left His principles and until we RETURN to HIM and His values, and in this case His values of finances we will only get worse. Malachi 3 teaches us that when God's children leave His principle the issue is we left Him and the point of return s the point of departure. Yes, it may get better for a while if this is not the BIG one on us. Yes they may solve the problem for a little time. We read in scripture that the Antichrist will take care of things for a few years. But it will tumble to collapse once and for all. For all of us Christians { by that I mean real born agin believers} we still need to Occupy till He comes. We need to earn and save and invest wisely to some degree, yet we need to make sure we are living and investing in God's Kingdom more than ever." Store up where moth nor rust doth not corrupt." The best way to secure provision for tomorrow is" BANK with Jesus" If the events of the last few months have unsettled you GOOD! We need reminded that we are only sojourners in this land, not citizens only pilgrims looking and longing for a far away land that has a shore of only GOOD NEWS. Sure this world has a lot of bad news but brother , sister we still have more good news than the world has bad news. Think about it today. As you go about today take a pen and small index card and throughout the day write down all the good news God gives us. All the good things in our life and the life to come. Its not dark days it bright days for those of us who know the Lord. Have a blessed BRIGHT DAY!
Monday Report
February 23, 2009
We had a very busy weekend and much was accomplished for the Lord. Friday night for the Yam/Youth outreach concert there was 337 in attendance. Three received Christ and many believers enjoyed a great night of praise, worship and fellowship. It was reported that more than half the crowd were first time visitors to our ministries. Many were introduced to Liberty and for that we are thankful to all who had a part in this. Pastor Mike and Pastor Chas led this event and we say "WELL DONE." Then just 8 hours after that event we had other ministers arrive to clean and set up along with those who were preparing the breakfast for our "LORD TEACH US TO PRAY Outreach" on Saturday morning. Over 140 attended and the breakfast was tremendous. Many learned to pray better and much prayer went up from this place which we are sure brings glory to God and fear to satan. The Ladies Bible study "Breaking Free" met at 10 a.m. with over 30 ladies present for deep practical study. Sundays services were blessed of God as our theme was "Biblical Finances" Whenever I preach on finances I often times feel like John the Baptist as he was 'A voice crying in the wilderness." We have been so influenced by the worlds system of finances that for us to hear about Biblical financial principle . it seems so foreign. If we are to obey the Bible in the area of finances we must make radical adjustments. Adjustments in how we make our money, how we spend our money , how we save our money and how we sow our money. John Rockefeller {the Bill Gates of another era} had a simple strategy that I think will still work today. Here was his financial strategy. First give God the first 10 % of your income- secondly - save the next 10% and finally spend 80%. Always give 10% and save 10% FIRST, then if any left over spend it if you would like. Think about it. The only thing you can afford is that which comes after tithe and savings. If we were to begin this early in life we wouldn't have to make much debt and oh the freedom of no debt. Well I better get off it , I can here some thinking, "he preached yesterday."
All you Liberty folk need to pray for Dave Richey and his wife Teresa along with Dave's dad Roy. Dave lost his mother [Wilma} yesterday. Wilma also attended Liberty. She and Roy were married 49 years. Send cards, attend the funeral, pray for them. Arrangements will be announced tomorrow .
30 YEARS AGO TODAY
February 20, 2009
Today 30 years ago Karen & I went to Marion General Hospital about 3p.m. in the afternoon and around 6 p.m. we witnessed the birth of our first born child Beth. What a wonderful day that was in our lives. You know when you think about it you really have great moments in life. The birth of your children certainly rates high in those moments. Beth we hope your day is a special one as you have given your mother and i some very special moments in our life. Have you told your children today that you love them? Have you told your mate you love them? Better to do it now then at a funeral when it is to late. Have your Memorial Days now. It is a whole lot better to show love then to withhold it.
REMEMBER tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. is our PRAYER BREAKFAST. We have a good morning lined out for our church to grow in prayer. We will first eat and then we will break up into 3 groups. Pastor Ryan will meet with all parents and their children and teach on Modeling Prayer in the Family. I will teach a group on Warfare Prayer and another group can opt to hear Beth Moore speak via video on Breaking Free by Prayer. We will have the nursery available and many prayer partners ready to assist in training prayer. Don't be afraid to pray, step up to your fear and LEARN TO PRAY! Hope to see you at 9 a.m. in the morning.
Tonight we have over 500 people expected to attend the Winter Blast Concert with Connersvine and Hunter Smith the punter of the Indianapolis Colts. It begins at 8 and we are praying for many to be saved. The gospel will be presented, so please pray for a great harvest of souls. I have to go for now so I will say bye for now and speak to you again on Monday. Oh by the way if you know of anyone who is having Fear about Finances that will be our emphasis this Sunday in both a.m. and p.m. services.
11 Saved Tuesday Night
February 19, 2009
Good morning to each of you readers. Today will be a very full day of study for this preacher. I am using today for preparation of Sundays messages. Appreciate your prayer for me as we desire to represent God and help those who come with obedient ears to listen to what God has to say. What a responsible position to speak for God. Sometimes the burden of that can get to a person, but we must remember it is God's plan to use imperfect humans to preach His Word! Again, appreciate your prayers as I prepare and preach tonight and Sunday.
What a wonderful report we received from the "Whites Team'. Many of you know this is a evangelistic/discipling team which goes to Whites Residential { a home for troubled teens} weekly and now they are in 5-7 cottages teens. Some of these cottages are male and some female. This past Tuesday night one of our own Teens Sam Fowler went with the team shared his testimony. Sam is a senior in high school and has the call to preach. As he shared his testimony in each of these cottages 11 teens received Christ as Saviour. Sam was an orphan from India. Steve & Julie Fowler adopted him as a baby and brought him to Indiana and eventually to Liberty Baptist Church. Sam has grown up here and what a wonderful illustration of Gods Grace and Sovereignty. Sam shared about spiritual adoption with each of these teens and it touched many hearts. Way to go Whites Team, keep up the faithful work. And Sam keep on sharing about God's love .
For all you Liberty folk , I would like for you to look up Beth Frank tonight and tell her Happy Birthday! She will be 30 years young tomorrow. Beth is our 1st born child. It is hard to believe that it was 30 years ago that she came was born. Of course she was in our hearts long before that day. We began praying for her not long after we were saved and once Karen & I were married we prayed for her daily even before she was conceived. I well remember when Karen, in her way announced to me about her pregnancy, oh the joy that filled our soul. In those days you didn't get to find out if you were having a boy or girl until the time of birth. When Beth was born and we found she was a little baby girl we were o pleased and thankful. She was so beautiful, a head full of black hair and she looked so much like my beautiful wife Karen, I was a blessed man. We have been so blessed with Beth thru the years , we are so proud of her. If you remember at church tonight tell her Happy Birthday!
Also for you Liberty folk. I am finishing out my preaching series on First in the Kingdom in a few weeks. If any of you have a desire of a particular series that would be helpful to you, let me know and we will pray about that for sure. Well I need to get to studying so goodbye for now.
LEARN TO LISTEN- LISTEN TO LEARN
February 17, 2009
Good morning! Hope each of you are having a God Centered Day! On my way to the office early this morning I did something I have done now for nearly 20 years. We live in the country and in order to get to our office I have only two basic ways to get here. One half mile east of my house is an intercection with a stop sign. At this intercection I can turn left and go to the highway which my office sits on or I can go straight for another mile and turn left go a quarter mile and turn onto the highway. The miles and time are the same. Most mornings I stop and ask the Holy Spirit which way does He want me to take. Most always I sense I am to turn left and go directly to highway but this morning it was one of those unusual times when I sensed strongly to go straight another mile and turn left a little later. It is just something I do to let the Lord know I am LISTENING for His voice. John Drakeford wrote a book years ago entitled " The Awesome Power of The Listening Heart" in it he said " Those Who Learn To Listen , Listen To Learn." I sure agree with that statement and through the years have attempted to listen carefully , intently and to the Lord. As Samuel of old let each of us say "Speak Lord for you Servant Heareth." We need to learn of our Lord but also we need to learn of our mates , children, parents, friends, co-workers, employees, employers, those we serve with in the body of Christ. We need to slow down and Listen so we can Learn. We need to learn what is going on in their lives , what kind of a day, week, month has been taking place. To learn how they have received a statement, to learn how they have understood a comment. Listening is a great gift we can give to God and Man, a gift of giving attention! Men as we give attention to our wives by just listening it is better than all other gifts you can buy. Friends as we give attention to those special people in our life as we listen it is a great gift. Teachers, Preachers as we give attention by having a listening heart we give a great gift to the student. Christians as we listen to God we give Him the attention He deservers. Remember this as we grow into being better listeners we become more like our Lord. He gives each of us the great gift of attention as He so yearns to grant us His listening heart!
Every Day is A New Day
February 16, 2009
It is Monday afternoon and for all you faithful readers sorry about being late for blogging today. Our baby girl {21 year old Rachel} had her car break down on her and I had to leave the office this morning at 9 a.m. and go to Lafayette to help. Thanks to our new son-in-law Jay, who helped at a moments notice as we pulled the car back to a trusted mechanic. At first I was not so happy but then the Lord said use the time to relax and enjoy my creation and spend some quality time with Jay. It took about 4 hours or so and I did relax some and had a great time. I had the privilege of buying lunch and we pent time discussing important things about life. I spent about 10 minutes with Rachael in the Lowes parking lot talking about her weekend and then we hugged and kissed and off we went. Now I am back in the office and beginning to do the normal Monday things. I am behind on some things but then again maybe I am farther ahead for having spent the morning in a little different fashion. I am so thankful for the Hope that is within me. God is such a faithful friend who is always there and always is speaking and leading, giving to us moment by moment what we need. He never fails. We had good services yesterday. Three adults raised their hands and let us know they prayed to receive Christ at the end of the second morning service. The altars were used and Two adults followed the Lord in believers baptism. We had over 700 in the morning ! Last eves service was a full house and worship was wonderful as usual. We had some new groups singing yesterday and WOW what tremendous singing! We had some other good old friends from the past who visited us in the morning service. Bruce & Vickie Lake . This couple served along side Karen & I during our Union Chapel Baptist days. They were greta servants of the Lord and still are. Thy moved to Ft. Wayne , In. years ago and decided to come down and visit. They emailed me this morning letting us know how much they enjoyed the church. I praise the Lord when I here folk like this tell us that the services were exceptional. Well have a great day and Lord willing I will blog early in the morning.
WELCOMED & WANTED
February 13, 2009
It is Friday morning and PTL for the warmer weather! It sure make a difference ! On Friday morning we usually get reports on all the ministries and how they went on Thursday eve, and we received some great reports today. The Lord is doing some awesome things in our church. This Sunday we have several adults who are going to follow the Lord in believers baptism. This is a response to last Sundays messages and they want to be obedient followers of Jesus. It will be wonderful to witness this event and to know that the Lord is doing a deep work in these lives. Pray for this couple they will be also be married in week or so. They have been living life in a way not pleasing to the Lord and now they want to please Him with their lives and do so by living the way He desires. Their walk of faith has inspired me as I see them make decisions that others in their life have challenged and decisions that have cost them, decisions that had fear of "What If's", yet they listened to God and are attempting to do it God's way not Man's way! Please pray for these folk today and the days ahead. As I see the Stories of Faith unfold it encourages me to continue to live by faith, and to continue to help people to know the Lord and to teach His Word so they can live a better life. Just as I was blogging I took a phone call of a man who told me he was moving back to our area after the Lord had done a work in his life letting him know he was to return. He asked me if he was still welcomed at Liberty, I said absolutely not only Welcomed but Wanted! God is alive and working in the lives of people. God is answering prayer !
Please pray for this pastor tomorrow as we lead the Deacon Fellowship in the morning. We desire the Lord to be Head of this church and we need His direction in all things. We meet at 9 a.m. on Saturday. Thanks for praying for us as we meet and attempt to lead this church in following the Lord! Also pray for Sunday services , Lord willing we will have wonderful worship and the preaching for the day will be on Christian Forgiveness. Hope to see you Liberty folk both morning and evening.
STORMS GONE ONCE AND FOR ALL
February 12, 2009
Good Thursday to each of you! Hope you are having a good day in the Lord! Wow, what a day yesterday here in our part of Indiana. Lot's of rain and very high winds through the night. It was really nasty! But this morning it is sunny and very nice. Shows you how quick the dark clouds can move out and the clear day move in. For any person with a watchful eye they know the storm clouds are gathering all over our nation and the world. Frightening winds are stirring and disaster seems to be on the way. In my opinion we are seeing the setting of that 7 year period on this earth, the Bible calls the TRIBULATION. Storms are raging and for those of us who are born again believers it will be just like last night, storms raging, darkness beginning to fill the earth, troubles everywhere, no answers, fears assailing, and then immediately a beautiful morning , the storm past forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Won't that be a great and glorious day? That is what I choose to focus on today, not CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC or any other forecast of events. I will focus on the DAY the storm will be over once and for all. Read 1st Thessalonians 4 today and look for that day, work for that day, help others get ready for that day!
Tonight at Liberty in the Adult Bible Study we will study from Revelation chapter 2 & 3 on two of the Churches of Revelation. The church at Thyatira and the church at Sardis. Hope to see you! Sunday we will spend the day emphasizing FIRST IN KINGDOM FORGIVENESS!
IMPOSSIBLE-DIFFICULT-DONE!
February 10, 2009
Hello to all you bloggers! Hope today finds you close to the Lord and filled with peace. Today will be a very full day for this preacher, so many things on my agenda for sure but the real priority today will be to do the will of God. Each of us have 24 hours in each day. No one person has less or more. In the sphere of time we are all equal. In our S.S. class this past Sunday we studied together from Ephesians 5 on how the Lord desires us to "REDEEM THE DAYS" , to make each moment, each opportunity, count for eternity. To waste time is to waste life and to waste life is one of the most tragic losses a person can have. Also on Sunday we preached from Acts 2 on the early church. Now there was a group of believers who didn't waste time, they made it count for sure. Their lives were made up of eternal priorities and purposes. Each day was made up of miraculous happenings and profound living. They believed that life on this earth was short that at any moment they could be killed for their faith or that Jesus Christ could return at any moment. So they set out each day to accomplish everything their Lord had ready for them to take part in. One of the great missionaries of few centuries ago was Hudson Taylor. He accomplished great things in the Kingdom of God on this earth, because he understood he was to "REDEEM THE TIME." One tremendous quote from this great man of God was " I have found that there are three stages in every great work of God: first, it is impossible, then it is difficult, then it is DONE. God's work is not man working for God;it is God's own work, though often wrought through man's hands." If each of us would attempt to redeem the time we have and walk in the Spirit we will find God will have some impossible things for us to step up to. As we begin to accomplish them they will be difficult but as we continue making the day's count we will see much done for eternity.
So today for me lots on the agenda. I plan to make this day count for eternity. I will study, visit, make phone calls , pray, seek vision from God, direction for our church, prepare for a deacon meeting , study and work on preaching messages for this weekend, meet with staff helping them in their ministry , plan for things on the home front needing done. Email a lot of folks, on & on I could go. But all must turn into eternal things or I will be wasting life not redeeming life. Hope you do the same. Have a great day.
FAITH & THE FLOCK
February 9, 2009
Good Monday morning! We had another god day yesterday at church. We had a good attendance in both morning services and during the invitation in the second morning service 5 adults raised their hands to let us know they prayed and received the Lord ,AMEN. Last evenings service was attended very well and the worship was excellent, to say the least. The emphasis in all services yesterday was "The Flock God's Church". If you missed it you go to resources on this web-sight and click sermons and listen at your convenience. We had some very special visitors with us, Mike & Becky Williams. It is hard to believe that they have been gone from Liberty for over 16 years. They were faithful attenders and also servants in the early years of our ministry here at Liberty. Because of work they had to relocate to the Goshen, Indiana area. It was good to see them and catch up on things. I asked them a pointed question and asked that they give me a very honest answer. The question was - "What did they sense today at Liberty?" Their answer was they sensed today the same thing they sensed when they first came years ago, a very warm welcome but most importantly they sensed the presence of the Lord's anointing on this ministry. Amen, Amen, Amen! "Surely The Presence Of The Lord Is In This Place." I think it is could to inspect our services and it is even better to inspect ourselves to see if we still have the anointing!
I have been working over some things in my mind on FAITH! What do you think about the following statement, do you agree or disagree? "Faith is not so much receiving from God what we want but accepting from God what He gives." Think about this "Faith is like a roll of film: it develops best in the dark."
SOULS & SERVICE
February 6, 2009
Good morning! I just seem to get my mind off of the what I blogged about yesterday, "You cannot Make A Difference Unless You Are Different." My thought's today tie in with that thought,"Right Priorities Make Differences." Most people live for one priority - self, and put simply this is a losing proposition. When Christians live for self, we fall in step with the world and the world's system. WE LOSE OUR ABILITY TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE. While a lost world is headed for a Christless eternity, we cannot afford to fall into complacent, self-obsessed living. Our priorities have been clearly defined in the Bible. We are here for His glory. We exist to love Him and reach others for Jesus Christ.
Jude 20- 23 tells us, "Keep yourself in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. And of some have compassion, making a DIFFERENCE. And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment spotted by the flesh." Clearly, our priorities should resolve around around eternity and the eternal souls of men! The only things that will last forever are the souls of men and the service we ministered unto our Savior and Lord! To truly make a difference we must bring our lives into a proper balance of priorities that Jesus has established.
Jude 24-25 " Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy. To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen." We must remember Jesus Christ is coming and we will answer directly to Him for our priorities.
This weekend I will speak from Act's chapter 2 with an emphasis on GOD'S CHURCH! Maybe you would like to study that chapter before we assemble on Sunday. Have a great day!
CHANGE - IS IT REALLY WHAT WE NEED?
February 5, 2009
Good morning again from FREEZING north central Indiana! It was 4 below zero at my house this morning and the sad thing is it doesn't feel so cold any longer due to I am getting used to it. But the good news is it is almost the the second week of February and we are moving closer to spring. We are supposed to have 40 - 50 degree days here beginning tomorrow and through the weekend, that will be a nice CHANGE. Now if you are from Indiana you have heard this statement " If you don't like the weather stick around a day or so it will change". Have you ever heard that? Have you noticed how our society is crying for change? Politically, religiously, socially, technologically, financially- we live in a world thirsty for change. But one reason we have so many problems is we have changed some things far to much and far to fast! The one thing we need the most is TRUTH and truth never changes. Truth is what God says about politics, finances, relations, marriage, religion, etc. Now how will we see a difference in the world for the better if we do not listen to God and stop listening to the vain ways of faltering man? If we are to see change in our society, change that really works and is not just empty promises, it must take place one person at a time.
Are you passionate about making a difference? Do you believe that God could use you to change your family, church, neighborhood, world? "TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE YOU MUST FIRST BE DIFFERENT"! God has called to Himself a people who should be "set apart"-holy, peculiar unto Him. Jude 20-21 states, "But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life." He challenges us to stand strong in our distinct, biblical position - our "most holy faith."
God's people will never make a difference by changing or innovating just for the sake of change. We will only make a difference by duplicating what is found in the life of Christ the only Truth. When we stand strong in the faith, we offer a hopeless world a fixed position- TRUTH- unchanging unwavering, a position that always brings good results. More than ever, our world needs change but the change needed is TRUTH. More than ever, our world needs Christians who stand secure, undaunted, and steadfast in the faith of Christ, the unchanging One.
You cannot make a difference unless you are different, and in today's culture , a fixed position of truth is the difference that people need the most!
Hope to see all you Liberty bloggers tonight at church as we meet with all adults and teach from Revelation 2-3 on the Seven Churches of Revelation. Bring your children & grandchildren to Awana, teens to Youth Meeting, , friends your friends to the Auditorium, and plan on having a great time at church tonight. Maybe you want to come early and eat and fellowship some before assembly. See you tonight.
OUR MISSION FIELD
February 3, 2009
Kokomo, Logansport, Mexico, Sanat Fe, Amboy, Peru, Bunker Hill, Wabash, Summerset, Lafountain, Huntington, Converse, Swayzee, Sims, Point Isabel, Normal, Elwood, Greentown, Arcadia, Jalapa, Sweetser, Herbst, Warren, Marion, Treaty, Van Buren, Landess, Upland, Hartford City, Muncie, Fairmount, Jonesboro, Gas City, Matthews, And all parts in between these places. These are the cities , and little towns and country areas where the believers of Liberty Baptist live and call home. You should get a map of Indiana out sometime and look and see the square miles radius of these places. If you do it will be fun to see and it will encourage you, seeing the sphere of our churches influence. This is our Jerusalem! This is beginning to be our Judea! " WE COME TO STRENGTHEN WE LEAVE TO LENGTHEN'. As we go to and from our home places may we be taking the Good News of Jesus Christ with us. May we have leaky Seed Baskets ! Sow the Seed everywhere, it will not return void. Now go get your map and take a red pen and start at Sweetser and draw a circle around it. Now go to Kokomo and draw a line to Logansport, now to Wabash ,go on to Huntington, head over to Van Buren, keep going to Hartford City, move on to Muncie, {is your hand tired yet, think about walking this like Phillip, Paul & Others}. Keep drawing , go from Muncie to Elwood now head back into Kokomo. What a circle, and it is OUR CIRCLE of Love! Now go to Sweetser and draw lines out to all the other cities and towns I mentioned earlier. Wow, lot's of lines. Now finally close your eyes and envision all these places, all the houses, businesses, schools, parks, stores. Now think about all the children, teens, adults and seniors who live in these places. THIS IS OUR MISSION FIELD!!! Identify your Mission Field, Pray for your Mission Field, And Share the Gospel with your Mission Field. If you do this exercise let me know how it effected you. It sure has touched my heart, early this morning!
SET MY SOUL ON FIRE LORD
February 2, 2009
It is Monday morning and am a little tired this morning. Had a good day yesterday in Sunday services. We had right at 700 in morning services as we spoke from Acts 8 on Philip and the Ethiopian. What a great story and lot's of tremendous spiritual lessons we found as we spent the day putting emphasis on how to win souls. We had one of our young boys profess his salvation by baptism last evening. During our evening service our teens and many teen leaders met for their own service as we do every year on Super Bowl night. They reported a great evening as well. Yesterday special music at Liberty was phenomenal! The Choir ministered with a great song about God's love, the morning offertory by Randi Jones and Cindy Parker was exceptional , Denise Singer provided a very moving special about David stepping up against Goliath and how we can do the same as God is the same today as He was then. I was ready to preach by the time we finished singing. Last night's service was the same. Great singing and then Chuck Binkert played the offertory with his guitar and it was so moving, then Scott Adams sung a song about God's Pictures of Grace, wow what a song and anointing. By the time I got up to preach, I was ready to say the least. At the end of the service we sung the song "SET MY SOUL ON FIRE" and the altars were used as many dedicated themselves to being better witnesses for the Lord . Then one last song "Here I Am" as we together corporately dedicated ourselves to take the Gospel to our individual worlds this week. I love being in church and yesterday was great being in the House of God! Better than the Super bowl for sure!!!!!!!!!1
Pastor Ryan, Beth, Lucy, Renae & Evan Doyle are at a Children's Pastors Conference in San Diego, California today through Thursday. Pray for them and pray for safety. The Lord is really using their KIDZ MATTER ministry across America and the World. For some of you readers who are unfamiliar with their ministry check them out at www.kidzmatter.com .
For all you readers who are looking for some of the new things which will happen on our blog , we will need to wait till Pastor Ryan gets back, seeing as he is my teacher on computer tech stuff. So probably next week is when we will get to that. Just wanted you to know that.
Let me give you something to chew on today! "A FRIEND IS SOMEONE WHO, WHEN YOU FORGET YOUR SONG,COMES AND SINGS IT FOR YOU".
