What Do You Think????????
April 29, 2008

I am in the office today and have lot's of people to see and things to do, Attempting to do what we preached on Sunday in the area of Putting God First in my schedule. I must find out what the Lord want's me to do today because there is already way to much on MY schedule to get done. One thing I am working on is to decide the direction for preaching on Sunday evenings for a while. I have been thinking about preaching from Matthew 25 on the 3 Parables concerning "TH LORDS RETURN". What do you think?? Any IDEAS, anything you would like to have preached on? I was praying and the thought came to me to ask you so i have. Give me a suggestion, just use the comment area here on the Blog. Also remember to invite folk to Sunday's morning services, Randy Ollis "WISH" TVs meteorologist will be here , he has a wonderful testimony that many need to hear. It is about how you can shine for Jesus in the career part of your life. What a great day this past Sunday! Had 5 adult's give their life to the Lord! Have a great week, and make sure you give me your ideas on Sunday eve preaching.

Getting Ready
April 25, 2008

Last eve in church was another great night of service and discipleship. I am always amazed at the number of servants we have here at Liberty. Today the staff has been getting ready for another weekend at Liberty. Lot's of great things are planned for all ages. Much Bible study will go into every class and each service. Many have prayed and will do so tomorrow also. Many are practicing their parts for music ministry and worship. Sunday will be our first in awhile "Young at Heart" lunch for all those over 50 years of age. Karen and I plan on going, hope to see many others. I will be preaching on the Ten Commandments in the a.m. and on "The Excellent Example" in the p.m. service. The Teens will be meeting after the p.m. service for a monthly "SNAC'. We plan on being here, that is if the Lord doesn't come first. Work hard on inviting people!! See you soon.

Guest Ready
April 24, 2008

Last Friday I took the day off . It really didn't turn out as a day off seeing from 7:30 am till 11:00 am I studied and prepared and entire sermon for our new series on the "Ten Commandments". Karen was at work that day so I was alone . I had heard her speaking to Rachael earlier in the week via phone and something was said that Rach and Chris her boyfriend were coming to Matthews, In. for a summer work interview on Friday night. With this knowledge I thought I would help Karen with getting the house ready. Those who know us already know the house was ready but in my opinion needed detailed. Karen had a very busy week and needed to go to Ladies Bible Study on Friday eve because that meeting was moved from Saturday morn because of the BLIZT our monthly evangelism outreach. Karen was planning to go to Bible study and would not be home till around 8:30 p.m. Knowing this i set out to "GET READY FOR GUEST'S". I cleaned the entire hose all 3 levels {guy's including the 3 bathrooms}, mopped the kitchen floor, cleaned all the windows, polished the furniture, used the vaccume to clean in areas not always gotten to. I then proceeded to go outside and mowed and weed whipped 2 1/2 acres . Then swept the garage, swept the walks and the drive, trimmed some shrubs, and worked on our landscaping in the front of the house. About 5:00 p.m. I went in and showered and then instead of putting on just any old thing I thought I would put on a nicer shirt and pants because "GUEST'S WERE COMING". I even popped a double batch of popcorn for those coming. I was watching and waiting till Karen got home. I asked where is Rach and Chris? She said what are you talking about they are not coming home this weekend! I said I thought they were coming to Matthew's for the interview? She said they did in the afternoon and then returned to Purdue as  they obligations there that weekend.

Now think about all the effort "GETTING READY FOR GUEST'S who didn't come. Think about the LORD and His Coming. We work, watch and wait for Him and then the day is over and He hasn't showed yet. As I was thinking that Friday night when my guest's didn't show, IT WAS STILL WORTH ALL THE LABOR. We had spent the time being productive. I had good exercise, good for my body. We had lot's of work done , had the joy of seeing it and enjoying the work of our labor. Not only that but we enjoyed looking for the guest's to arrive. The Best part was I had POPCORN FOR THE NEXT DAY ALSO!  And that night I slept like a baby because I had worked hard "GETTING READY FOR GUEST"S". Hey by the way we get to do it this week also because "I THINK" Rach and Chris are coming this weekend also?????????????????????????????????????

Keep Preparing For The Guest Of A Lifetime!!!!!

Great Day Yesterday
April 14, 2008

What a great day yesterday at Liberty. We had 3 adults saved in the morning service and 1 fellow was saved in visitation for the Jail Ministry. That is wonderful!!!!  The Lord blessed us with a great spirit and tremendous attendance. Last nights service was again wonderful. What a great crowd, the auditorium was full and the Lords presence was again manifested. Last eve we just had  {u-pic- em} Hymns and the crowd loved it. We took in new members and the altars were used all day. Praise the Lord. Today I am so thankful to be a part of a church that is prevailing and prospering. It is all because of the LORD. Thank Him for His sending His revival fire. I want to encourage all of the Liberty Family to plan on being here this Saturday {April 19}  at 9:30 am for our monthly Prayer Meeting and Blitz. Work hard this week inviting folk to church and giving out the Gospel. Remember to make much of the Name of Jesus!!!!!

Remember To Pray
April 8, 2008

Today we have another funeral service for one of our own. Steve Smith went to heaven this past friday. Lets remember to pray for Steve's wife Kay and for his daughter Beth. Both Kay and Beth attend Liberty and stand in need of our prayers and encouragements. Why not send a card and let them know you care. This year we have lost many of our people to Heaven. But the good news is they are not really lost they have just went ahead of us and we will see them again. All because of Jesus and His payment for sin. I am thankful today that Steve received Jesus as his personal Saviour and that makes all the difference today. Steve was saved later in life and we heard that his sister had prayed for him for years to be saved. Let me encourage you to continue to earnestly pray for the salvation of people and then share the Good News this week with many. It really is the most important thing we can do in life. Talk to you soon!

70 Degree Days
April 7, 2008

It is Monday April 7th. Finally we have a 70 degree day here in Northeast Indiana. I heard it was the first one since early October. I think I heard the weather people say it was one of the longest spans of time for our area between having a 70 degree day. Nearly 170 days. Now for me that is way to long, dont you agree?  Well one thing for sure, you can complain about the weather but that wont change it. What a lesson we need to learn concerning the things we can't change. We can complain, we can get discouraged, we can get angry or frustrated but that still wont change a thing. The only thing we can change is our attitude toward those things. We can decide to make the best of it and not let it get us down. We can decide to go on with a good attitude, one which will make the best of a bad situation. If we do that in time we will overcome and the day will be warmer even if it isn't a "70 Degree Day" . Well enjoy the sunshine and the warmer weather, and remember now that it is warmer it wont be long tell we will be complaining about having to mow the lawn. Love each of you!

TARRYING AND TOILING
April 3, 2008

 We Christians pride ourselves on not being worldly. We shun alchohol, tobacco, and impure entertainment; but at the same time we join the worlds rat race and compete with each other for all time we can get. We forget that God gives each of us only twenty-four hours a day. The entire universe operates a day at a time while we attempt to cram a week's work into a weekend. Each of us who seek to serve the Lord must have tarrying days if we are to be effective. Otherwise,our ministry will only become activity-and feverish activity at that- and will tear us down instead of build us up. Each of us must find the Father's will and live by that schedule. He will lead you into time of waiting, resting and refueling. We will each need to be led by Him and when this happens there will always be time for His will. Times of tarrying are preparation for times of toiling.  We wait before the Lord so we can work for the Lord. God is our refuge in the hiding place that He might be our strength in the marketplace. We go apart to be with Him, not to escape life, but to get new enduement to face life. Tarrying times are times of refreshment and renewal. Who knows? If all of us slowed down a bit, if we took time to wait before God in prayer, we see God work in some wonderful ways. We might see some fractured marriages mended again, some discordant ministries brought back into God's harmony, some exhausted believers given new strength and zeal for God. We might see Revival!  " Be still and know that I am God" {Ps. 46:10}

I Am Back I Think
April 2, 2008

Hey all you Bishir Blog readers! I AM BACK I THINK! Sorry about the last 9 days not blogging, but we were down in bed with the flu most of that time. We are feeling better but still not back to full speed. The spirit is willing but the body is not wanting to cooperate. Times like these remind us that we should be more thankful for the time God gives us when we are healthy. The last several days I have wanted to do so much for the Lord and others and have not been able to do so. It reminds me of the LORDS words when he said "Work Now FoR THe Night Cometh When The Work Is Over". Well for now I am going to attempt to pace myself and prayerfully will get back to full speed in time. What joy there is in Serving the Lord and His Church. Hope to speak to each of you soon.
