From the Children's Pastor

Welcome to our children's ministry page! Who are we? We are people that love kids and want to see them follow and serve God with all their hearts! It is our desire to show the love of God to children, leading them to a clear understanding of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and instilling in them a heart to serve Him.

Our ministries are as diverse as the children we serve. We recognize that the first responsibility to children for these things rests with every child's parents. However, we as a church family strive to enrich the process in many ways. This web site will show you how.

Children's Ministry Goals:

Luke 2:52 says "Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man." We have used this verse to establish four goals in our children's ministry. Of course, our main priority is making sure that each child has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. After that, we want to help kids:
1) Make good choices. "Jesus increased in wisdom"
2) Develop healthy habits. "and stature"
3) Walk with God. "in favor with God"
4) Choose good friends. "and man"

 

Our Commitment to Parents:

We partner with parents in raising their children to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and grow in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man (Luke 2:52). We believe that the spiritual formation of children must be done by parents, not for parents. We desire to empower and equip parents in the high calling of raising children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

 

Our Ministries:

  • Nursery - Available every service!
    Babies and toddlers ages birth-24 months are welcome in our nursery. A Nursery leader will meet you at the check-in area to receive your child, diaper bag and any other necessary items. Please sign in and note any information that will help in caring for your child such as feeding times, sleeping times, allergies and special needs. At the time of check-in, a Nursery leader will give you a security pager so that we can contact you if you are needed throughout the church service.
  • Sunday School - Sundays at 9:45 am
    Our Sunday School classes provide age-appropriate Bible lessons and learning activities which encourage physical and spiritual development. These classes are available for children from two-years-old up to the sixth grade. Each class if led by dedicated and skilled teachers who are committed to teaching God's Word.   • Kid's Church - Sundays at 8:15 am & 10:45 am
    Our kid's churches provide sound Bible teaching, great worship, and fun activities. Review games, Bible characters, Puppet Pals and more are an exciting part of our kid's church program! Leaders teach and disciple children in both a large and small-group setting. There are kid's church classes for preschool, lower-elementary, and upper-elementary ages.   • Heaven's Harmony Choir - Sundays at 5:00 pm
    The choir  is for children ages 4 year old through 6th grade. The children sing in the church services and perform special programs every year.
  • Puppet Pals - Sundays at 5:00 pm
    Puppets Pals a pizzazz to our children's ministry. If you are interested in being a part of this ministry, contact the church office and you will directed to the ministry leader.
  • AWANA - Thursdays at 7:00 pm
    LBC has an exciting AWANA program for age 2 - 6 grade. We incorporate games, Scripture memory and Bible stories to help our kids learn the important truths of the Bible with the goal of entering a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The word AWANA comes from an acrostic from II Timothy 2:15 which reads, ”Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.” Therefore, AWANA is Approved Workers Are Not Ashamed!
  • Bus Ministry - Sunday mornings and Thursday nights
    God’s Word calls us in Luke 14:23 to go out into the highways and the hedges and compel people to come in.  Our bus ministry rises to this challenge and brings children to Kid's Church and AWANA weekly.  Every Sunday and Thursday children who wouldn't regularly have transportation to attend church are being provided with transportation and love from leaders who care about them personally.
  • Vacation Bible School
    A summer Bible school that meets for one week with an emphasis on learning more about God and His Word and worship. Children also enjoy classroom time with leaders, crafts and recreation. This ministry is for children ages four through twelve.
  • Kids Kamp
    All Stars Children's Ministry provides camp opportunities for kids in the summer! Concentrated teaching from God's Word and a unique environment encourages spiritual challenge for the children and an opportunity for leaders to develop closer relationships with them.
  • Baby Dedication Service
    Liberty Baptist Church has baby dedication services regularly. This is a special time when parents thank God for a precious new life and pledge themselves to follow the Lord's leadership in the development of the child's life. Dedication services are scheduled periodically, and parents may register by contacting the children's pastor at (765) 384-7004.

 

Where do my kids go?

Liberty Baptist Church recently built a 22,000 square foot Children's Ministry Center (see below). There are signs in the Children's Ministry Center directing you to the right places.

As a general rule:

  • Babies through age 5 classes are on the ground level of the building.
  • Grades K - 2 are on the upper level of the building.
  • Grades 3-6 are on the lower level of the building.
