THE LORD'S TRIUMPHANT ENTRY!

March 28, 2025 by Terry Bishir

This past Sunday evening at Liberty Baptist Church we spoke from Matthew 21:1-22. Four great themes are found in these verses. First, we find the record of Jesus' Triumphant Entry into Jerusalem as KING!  We compared Matthew 21:1- 11 with Zechariah 9: 9-10 and Jeremiah 7 and found 13 reasons that Jesus was the Legitimate King who deserved a coronation on that particular day just 8 days before He was to be crowned with a crucifixion. Secondly, we looked at Matthew 21:12-13 As Jesus went into the Temple and was very angry with the religious leaders for how they had allowed the people to turn into what He said was a Den of Thieves. His anger was a righteous indignation. A Holy wrath, totally controlled and with a motive of love. He certainly stirred things up. They asked who did he think he was to do such a thing and the answer was clear. HE was the Lord of the Temple, in fact He was the TEMPLE. Thirdly, we looked at verses 14 - 19 as Jesus cursed the Fig Tree which was not producing fruit. It looked so green and so healthy yet it did not have one fig on the tree.  How convicting those verses became to each of us as we certainly don't want cursed but blessed. Fourthly, we looked at verses 20 - 22 and thought about faith and trust and how we as believers are to be trusting together as a people of God.

God's Word is so powerful and practical. There was so much truth packed into these 22 verses that I would like to encourage you to listen again or for the first time to the message online here at www.libertyfamily.org. I think it would help you as we enter the next three weeks before Easter.

If you attend Liberty let me encourage you to invite, invite, and invite to church  everyone you can over the next few weeks. It is a great time of year to do so. Perhaps the best. And then pray, pray and pray some more for people to come and hear the gospel and respond in repentance and faith to His Good-news. If you attend elsewhere I encourage you to do the same where you live and where you attend church.

God Bless your Week!

PLEASE !!

It is only reasonable to believe that I am not the only christian, pastor, parent, grandparent, citizen who is asking the Lord to PLEASESEND REVIVAL to HIS PEOPLE. Steven Olford says "Revival is an invasion from heaven which brings a concious awareness of God". Robert Coleman gives a definition of revival as " That soverign work of God in which God visits his own people re...

Safe and Secure

The Apostle Peter in his first epistle writes to early persecuted Christians who have been driven from their homeland into other parts of the world. Even there they are in hostile territory. Peter writes to remind them that they have a great hope in the living Christ in such testing. Let me give you a helpful outline for the first 9 verses of chapter one of 1st Peter. I. W...

January 24, 2020 - Three Keys to Perseverance

One thing for sure is that we each live in a very stressful and dangerous world. Even more so for the followers of Christ. As soon as we wake in the morning till we retire for the evening there is continual opposition. In fact as we sleep there can rise up within us opposition to the purposes and plans our Lord has for our lives. Opposition is a reality of life and it can ...

December 20, 2019 - Spurgeon's Christmas Sermon from 1862

In my personal study to prepare my heart for Christmas 2019 I ran across this message by Charles Spurgeon which he preached on December 21, 1862 ( 157 years ago ). I found it very helpful, challenging and as relevant today as it was 157 years ago. I think it will only take 15 minutes to read and I encourage you to spend a little quiet time reading in your preparation for C...

August 27, 2019 - On the Palace Roof

Currently we are in a preaching series entitled, "People and Places of the Bible." One message I preached was entitled, "King David on His Palace Roof Near the Temple Mount." One of my favorite people in the Bible is David. What a great man of God. The Bible says he had a heart for God. Just read the Psalms and see how greatly he desired to honor the name of the Lord. See ...

June 13, 2019 - Seeking Solitude

The more stressful my life becomes I find a greater desire to be alone with God. As we study the life of our Lord while here on this earth He made it a priority of the day to seek spending time with the Heavenly Father. Time alone, time in solitude. I heard the saying years ago, "We need to come apart so we will not come apart" , so true!Yet in society today it seems like ...
