THE LORD'S TRIUMPHANT ENTRY!

March 28, 2025 by Terry Bishir

This past Sunday evening at Liberty Baptist Church we spoke from Matthew 21:1-22. Four great themes are found in these verses. First, we find the record of Jesus' Triumphant Entry into Jerusalem as KING!  We compared Matthew 21:1- 11 with Zechariah 9: 9-10 and Jeremiah 7 and found 13 reasons that Jesus was the Legitimate King who deserved a coronation on that particular day just 8 days before He was to be crowned with a crucifixion. Secondly, we looked at Matthew 21:12-13 As Jesus went into the Temple and was very angry with the religious leaders for how they had allowed the people to turn into what He said was a Den of Thieves. His anger was a righteous indignation. A Holy wrath, totally controlled and with a motive of love. He certainly stirred things up. They asked who did he think he was to do such a thing and the answer was clear. HE was the Lord of the Temple, in fact He was the TEMPLE. Thirdly, we looked at verses 14 - 19 as Jesus cursed the Fig Tree which was not producing fruit. It looked so green and so healthy yet it did not have one fig on the tree.  How convicting those verses became to each of us as we certainly don't want cursed but blessed. Fourthly, we looked at verses 20 - 22 and thought about faith and trust and how we as believers are to be trusting together as a people of God.

God's Word is so powerful and practical. There was so much truth packed into these 22 verses that I would like to encourage you to listen again or for the first time to the message online here at www.libertyfamily.org. I think it would help you as we enter the next three weeks before Easter.

If you attend Liberty let me encourage you to invite, invite, and invite to church  everyone you can over the next few weeks. It is a great time of year to do so. Perhaps the best. And then pray, pray and pray some more for people to come and hear the gospel and respond in repentance and faith to His Good-news. If you attend elsewhere I encourage you to do the same where you live and where you attend church.

God Bless your Week!

January 27, 2018 - IMPACT

Those who have left the greatest impact on our world usually had one thing in common: personal discipline! People of impact are willing to do things that most people are unwilling to do. They have become people of great self discipline!1.Impact people train their temperaments. They live by their Bible based conviction not their emotions. They live by faith not feelings...

October 5, 2017 - Las Vegas Shooting

My heart is saddened with the tragedy this week in Las Vegas. The killing of innocent people. The great argument will become is it a gun problem or a culture problem. The answer is it is a HEART PROBLEM. When the hearts of men are not turned to God the enemy (Satan) has his way. The thief is come to steal, kill and destroy. His mission is to bring fear, doubt and anxiety t...

You Have A Story That Needs Told!Ever noticed how people love listening to a good story especially a true one. And when it comes to sharing your faith, one of the most effective tools in our evangelistic toolbox is our personal testimony. Why just the other day I was preaching a funeral and began sharing my story of how I came to Christ and I noticed how I gained attention...

Want to know what really brings satisfaction to me? Here it is, I really find satisfaction in serving the Lord more than in any other area of life. "Satisfaction is found in Serving our Lord".I'm not saying that it isn't often extremely hard. Or that it does not push one to their limits. Of course it can empty us of physical and mental energy leaving us exhausted. But I ha...
