There are times in the Christian walk when the Lord seems far a way or distant. The awareness of His presence cannot be sensed in a manifested way. The seeming darkness hides Him from our sight and sensing causing us to feel all alone!
However we know that God has clearly told us that He will never leave His children. Philippians 4:5 in a matter of five words declares - " THE LORD IS AT HAND". This means He is near at all times in every situation. He is always near us and able to care for us with His power He could change any circumstance if He so willed. For trials and troubles to remain do not mean He is not at hand but that He has purpose in our difficulties. There is greater eternal purpose to be worked out than what instant deliverance would bring. This also means He could come at any moment and take us home with Him to Heaven. At this time in your life you may be struggling with questions and doubts about the Lord's nearness. Trust that the Lord is close by and "His hand is not shortened that it cannot save and His ear is not heavy that it cannot hear" ( Isa 59:1). Accept what God is allowing at this time and trust God to work it all out for good . "Wait on the Lord and in due season ye shall reap if ye faint not" (Galatians 6:9).
