How I came into relationship with Jesus Christ.
When I was 12 years old, I was sitting in our old auditorium during the main service.  At the end of the service, I told my mom and dad that I needed to go forward.  I received Jesus Christ that day and prayed with Perry Frank in Pastor’s old office.  It was 1989.

How I came to Liberty Baptist.
Our church started out very small.  My Grandpa and Grandma Carmichael were some of the original people that were at the church when Pastor and Karen came.  A very short time after Pastor started, my grandparents invited our family to come.  We began to come a short time later when our church had about 50 people attending here.

What I do at Liberty Baptist.
Here at Liberty, I have done many things over the years.  Currently, I am serving my second term as deacon.  I also serve by teaching first service Jr. Church every other month, teach the 3rd-6th grade Awana teaching time on Thursdays, help in the nursery, in charge of the maintenance issues on our buses and vans, fill in to teach Sunday school classes when needed, and serve wherever else that is needed. My kids serve with me in children’s ministry and my wife helps to serve in the nursery and the video projector ministry.

Why I do what I do.
This is a hard and easy question all in one.  The easy answer is that I love kids and they keep my young, so I love serving in the church with young people.  The hard part is that as a dad, my position as a parent is to train up my kids for the Lord to love the Lord, not to just obey.  If I just teach them to obey, they might choose to go a different direction than follow Christ.  But, if I teach them to love, they will choose to obey.  The reason I choose to serve in these capacities is to lead by example with my children in the hopes that they will choose to love the Lord and serve Him as well.

At Liberty Baptist since 1988.

On staff since 2005.

Educational Background.
I have a degree in Diesel Ag.  I have taken Bible classes through Liberty University.

Favorite verse.
Romans 10:9 “If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

Married to Kristi.

Children: Alexis, Alyssa, Ross, and Micah

What I do for fun.
I love to do things in the church.  I love going to kid’s camp and serving as a counselor.  I also love to go watch any sports event and spend time with my family.  Also, my kids are involved at church and also in sports, so I love to go  watch them in their sport or in action at church serving.
