Join us on Thursday evenings for our adult elective classes! The current offerings include:
No Other Gospel - A Study of the Book of Galatians with Andy Rickner:
The good news of Jesus Christ changes everything. Our faith and practice are shaped by the Gospel. And yet, the churches in Galatia were tempted to turn away from what they had heard. Competing voices and altered gospels plague our culture today just like they have in every generation. Paul wrote his letter to the Galatians to clarify and defend “the truth of the Gospel” (2:5,16) in the face of a false gospel. Embark with us in this class as we walk through the book of Galatians and consider our own faith and practice as those who have been made heirs of promises, sons and daughters, believers in no other gospel, except boasting in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.
A Brave New Worldview - Women & the Fight of our Time with Amanda Hanson & Melody Ybarra:
Calling all ladies. It's going to take preparation. It’s going to take bravery. It’s going to take the church and home to guide and defend our young people from a culture that would mutilate them and have them feast on lies. This class is appropriate for women from all ages and stages of life who are willing to obey God and disciple the young people in their church and home. In this class, we will be looking to equip ourselves and our children to understand and live out God’s design for sex. We will focus on spotting the lies our society teaches and learning what we can do to engage in the defining conversation of our time. We pray that we learn to show love to people held captive to bad ideas while never compromising the truth of God’s Word.
Does God Still Speak? The Blessing of Hearing His Word with Pastor Terry Bishir:
It is a hallmark of the Christian faith that there is only one true and living God, and oh what blessing that He is a God who speaks. Our God seeks a personal relationship with His people and one of the ways God does this is through speaking. He spoke and the world was created. He spoke through the prophets. In these last days, He has spoken by His Son. This series will focus on how we can hear from God in a better way, such as by gaining a better understanding that God does speak to us and thinking through the different ways He does speak. At the heart, we must apply proper attitudes for listening well to God and become attuned to recognizing His voice among so many other competing voices.
Prayer - Always & Without Ceasing:
“God has promised to hear prayer, and he will perform his promise,” Spurgeon said. “Look up then and rejoice. There is always an open ear if you have an open mouth. There is always a ready hand if you have a ready heart.” It is hard to overemphasize the importance of prayer for our own souls and for our church family. We need prayer, and so we challenge you over the next 8 weeks if you are attending another elective, to commit just 1 of those weeks to prayer. Pray alongside our women’s prayer group or the men’s prayer group on Thursday nights in February and March.

Awana
Kids represent the greatest opportunity to make a long-term impact on our world for Christ. Awana reaches kids where they’re at and walks alongside them in their faith journey. Those kids who come to faith at an early age discover God’s purpose for their lives and hope for the future. Ministry leaders and parents witness the profound impact Awana has in reaching kids with the gospel and watching them grow as long-term disciples. That’s why so many families and leaders have returned year after year, week after week, for more than three generations. Bring your children this Thursday night at 6:30p and join us for Awana!
