This week I am studying on Noah's life in order to teach my midweek elective class here at Liberty Baptist in Sweetser. I love studying about the great heroes of the faith. We learn much from their lives, things we should do and things we need to avoid that they did do.  We can learn much about the life of faith as we follow the footprints of the faithful. Noah was one of those faithful. He was a man of faith who trusted the Lord and His Word.

 God spoke to Noah and told him to build an ark because He was going to destroy the world with water. Now that would have been hard to believe because it was the invisible God who spoke to Noah's heart and the thought of such power to destroy the world must have seemed impossible to the human mind.  Yet not seeing God with the visible eye and in the midst of such improbability Noah moved with fear began a 120 year  "Building Campaign".   In the midst of scorn and mocking Noah and his family obeyed and built an ark that would be the salvation of humanity and all animal life.  The seed of man would survive and the SEED of MESSIAH would still prevail as promised.

Noah's faith was not without opposition, in the forms of doubt, temptation, hardship, endurance, mockery and so much more. Yet the ark was finished, preaching repentance accomplished, entering in of the ark obeyed and riding out the storm was survived. All by faith! Faith in the Lord and His word and will.

Oh how we each need to live by faith and not by feeling. Faith pleases God! Faith is the Victory! Faith Cometh by the Word of God!

In my study I found the following "Lessons Learned" I had filed away in one of my folders on Noah! It is humorous but as you think on each lesson you will find there is some real practical truth to each lesson.  They are truths worth pondering! Hope you enjoy and find encouragement to LIVE BY FAITH!

LESSONS FROM NOAH!
 
One:  Don’t miss the boat.
Two:  Remember that we are all in the same boat.
Three:  Plan ahead.  It wasn’t raining when Noah built the Ark.
Four: Stay fit. When you 600 yr. old someone may ask you to do something really big.
Five: Don’t listen to critics, just get on with the job that needs to be done.
Six:  Build your future on high ground.
Seven: For safety’s sake travel in pairs.
Eight: Speed isn’t everything.  The snails were on board with the cheetahs.
Nine:  When you’re stressed, float awhile.
Ten:  Remember the Ark was built by amateurs, the Titanic by professionals.
Eleven:  No matter the storm, when you are with God there’s always a rainbow waiting.
